PEORIA, Ill. -- Junior Taylor Ledwein has helped highlight a busy summer for the Bradley Women's Golf team, winning a pair of Minnesota Golf Association (MGA) titles.

Ledwein opened the summer by claiming the MGA Women's Match Play Championship in late June.  She topped Olivia Herrick 2 and 1 in the championship matchup played at the Faribault Golf Club in Faribault, Minn.

Earlier this week, Ledwein added another title with a win at the MGA Women's State Amateur Championship which was held at the par-74 White Bear Yacht Club in Dellwood, Minn.  She was two shots off the lead following a five-under par second-round 69, but would end up claiming medalist honors by four strokes after a two-under par 72 in the final round to finish at 215.

Ledwein opened her final round with a birdie on the first hole and nearly had a hole-in-one on the par-3 11th as she fired back-to-back birdies to start the back nine.  She finished at seven-under 215 for the event and was joined in the top-10 by incoming freshman Megan Welch, who tied for ninth at eight-over 230.  Earlier in the month, Welch tied for seventh at the Minnesota Junior Girls' Championship.

In addition to Ledwein's two victories, senior Brooke Thompson claimed the medalist title at the 2018 Accelerated Golf Tour event played earlier this week at Whitmoor Country Club in St. Charles, Mo., by an impressive 13 strokes.  Thompson's title came on the heels of a sixth-place state finish at the 2018 Missouri Women's Amateur Championship.

Sophomore Maddie Hawkins had a strong showing at the 94th Iowa Women's Amateur Championship, placing eighth in the event which was played at Spirit Hollow Club in Burlington, Iowa.  Hawkins and incoming freshman Sarah Nacos teamed up to tie for fourth at the Eighth Iowa Golf Association Women's Four-Ball Championship at Otter Creek Golf Course in Ankeny, Iowa, in early July.

Nacos has had a solid summer of her own, finishing third individually at the state championship in late May to help her Washington (IA) high school team to a state championship.  She also took second at the 43rd Girls Iowa Junior PGA Championship to earn a spot in the 43rd Girls Junior PGA Championship, which was held in Lexington, Ky.
