Braves Win European Finale, 74-48

Amsterdam, Netherlands – The Bradley men's basketball team wrapped up its European trip with a 74-48 victory over the Amsterdam Select on Friday night.

Senior Luuk van Bree and freshman Ari Boya led the Braves to victory, each chipping in 15 points and 10 rebounds. Van Bree made 7-of-13 field goals and collected six offensive boards in the winning effort in his home country, while Boya made 7-of-9 shots from the field and added six blocks to go with his double-double.

Sophomore Elijah Childs also reached double-figures with 11 points to go with seven rebounds and four steals. Junior Darrell Brown registered a team-leading four assists.

After the Select team opened the game with a 3-pointer, the Braves quickly responded and never trailed again. Van Bree knocked down a triple of his own to give BU the edge for good at 5-3 en route to his double-double performance. The Braves led by six points after one quarter, 19-13, and by eight at the halftime intermission, 35-27.

After van Bree scored nine points in the opening half to give BU the advantage, Boya dominated the third quarter as Bradley pushed its lead to 19 after 30 minutes of play. The rookie center scored eight points and collected four boards in the frame as the Braves outscored its foe, 22-11. Bradley then cruised to the 26-point victory from there.

The Braves again dominated the inside and also had a top-defensive performance in Friday's victory. BU had 23 offensive rebounds with a 44-20 edge in points in the paint, while holding the Select team to 28.6 percent shooting and forcing 29 miscues (17 via steal) for a 25-7 edge in points off turnovers.

Bradley opened its foreign trip with a 73-66 victory against the Surrey Scorchers of the British Basketball League on Tuesday to go with Friday's win.
