FORT WAYNE, IN – Bradley Soccer turned to an aerial attack to rally for another last-second victory as sophomore forward Gerit Wintermeyer netted the game-winner with 54 seconds remaining in the second overtime, lifting the Braves (5-0-2) to a 2-1 win at Purdue Fort Wayne (3-3-0) Friday night at Hefner Soccer Complex.

Overcoming an early score by the Mastodons, Bradley extended its overall unbeaten streak to 12 games (8-0-4), dating back to last October, the third-longest unbeaten streak in the nation.

Sophomore forward Younes Dayekh finished with a pair of assists, both on free kick services, to spark Bradley's rally.  The first service came from near midfield in the 56th minute.  Senior defender Alex Ciaramitaro rose high near the left endline to head the ball back in front of the goal mouth, where Roman Schindler made a sliding finish at the right post to tie the score at 1-1 at 55:53.

After several near misses in both overtime periods, Bradley was awarded another free kick near the sideline about 20 yards out.  Dayekh again provided the service and this time the 6-foot-3 Wintermeyer kept the ball moving inside the left post with a back header at 109:06 for his team-leading fourth goal of the year and third game-winner.

Bradley has twice netted the game-winner inside the game's final minute this season.  Schindler scored with just two seconds remaining in regulation for a 2-1 win against Oral Roberts Aug. 26 at Shea Stadium before Wintermeyer's winner Friday night with 54 seconds remaining in the final overtime.

Purdue Fort Wayne nabbed the early lead with a restart goal of its own.   Following a Bradley foul deep in its defensive end, Romain Lopez provided free kick service to the center of the goal mouth and Matthew Lieshout ran through the 6-yard box unmarked for the easy header finish.

The Mastodons goal was one of just four of their eight shots they would put on target, however.  Albert Reinwart stopped the other three to earn his first career overtime victory.  The Braves finished with a 23-8 margin in shots.

Bradley was scheduled to continue its 3-game road swing Sunday by visiting Appalachian State, but the game has been cancelled due to Hurricane Florence and a makeup contest has not been determined.  The Braves now are scheduled to return to action next Saturday when they visit Central Arkansas for their Missouri Valley Conference opener.
