Lensing & Braves Lead At Crusader Collegiate

CHESTERTON, Ind. – Senior Daniel Lensing is tied for the individual lead at the Crusader Collegiate and the Bradley men's golf team holds a four-shot advantage on the field after the opening two rounds of play at the par-72 Sand Creek Country Club Monday.

Lensing is tied with Loyola's Devin Johnson for the top spot on the individual leaderboard at three-under 141 after firing a one-under 71 in the morning and season-best two-under 70 in the afternoon. He helped Bradley close the opening day of play at one-over par 577 with the Braves carding rounds of 287 and 290 during Monday's action.

Wright State is second in the team standings at 581, while Missouri Valley Conference rival Loyola is 14 shots back in third at 590 in the 13-team field. Purdue Fort Wayne and former Valley rival Creighton are tied for fourth at 599 heading into Tuesday's final round.

Bradley has four individuals in the top 12 in the individual standings with senior Michael Mounce joining Lensing in the top 10. Mounce is tied for sixth overall at one-over 145, turning in round of 74 and one-under 71.

His brother Branden Mounce had the low first round for the Braves with a season-best two-under 70. Branden is two shots back of Michael in a tie for 12^th (147) after firing a second-round 77. Junior Charles Jahn is also tied for 12^th at three-over 147, posting rounds of 72 and 75 Monday.

Senior Drake Bushong completes the team scoring for Bradley in a tie for 24^th at 151, two shots out of the top 20. Bushong rebounded from a first-round 77 to fire a second-round 74.

Sophomore Miguel Montelongo is in the field as an individual and will start Tuesday's final round tied for 10^th (146). Montelongo used a second-round one-under 71 to vault into the top 10, posting his lowest round since a career-best 70 in the opening round of last September's Derek Dolenc Invitational. Montelongoo opened the tournament with a first-round 75.

The final round of the Crusader Collegiate gets under way Tuesday with tee times starting at 7:30 a.m.
