ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- For the second time in her career, senior outside hitter Erica Haslag has been the Missouri Valley Conference Volleyball Player of the Week according to an announcement by the league office Monday afternoon after helping Bradley to three victories and the 2018 CEFCU Classic title this past weekend.

Haslag was named MVP of the 2018 CEFCU Classic after helping the Braves improve to 10-2 on the year to match the best start through 12 matches in program history.  She averaged 4.18 kills and 0.64 blocks per set while hitting .306 in the three victories.

The preseason All-MVC selection and 2017 First-Team All-Valley performer opened the week with six kills in a sweep of in-state foe Eastern Illinois.  In a five-set victory over Omaha, Haslag hit .431 and notched a season-best 27 kills in addition to collecting three blocks as she recorded her 1,300th career kill.  She capped the week with a match-high 13 kills and four blocks in a sweep of Milwaukee.

Haslag ranks third in the MVC in kills per set at 3.78 and helped lead Bradley to its most non-conference victories (10) in a season since 1988 (18) when the Gateway Conference schedule consisted of just nine contests.

The MVC Player of the Week award marks the second time Haslag earned the distinction after also earning the award Nov. 20, 2017.  She joins Lindsay Stalzer, Stephanie Behrns, Samantha Hardwick and Laura Benzing as the only individuals in program history to earn multiple MVC Player of the Week awards during their time on The Hilltop.

Haslag and the Braves open Missouri Valley Conference play Friday with a 7 p.m. match at Southern Illinois.
