YORKTOWN, Ind. -- Junior Megan Medinger earned her first career top-10 finish with a fifth-place showing to pace Bradley Women's Golf at the Cardinal Classic and help the Braves to a fourth-place finish in the 16-team tournament which wrapped up Tuesday at the par-72 Players Club.

Medinger fired a five-over 77 on the final day of competition as she posted the best 54-hole score of her career at five-over par 221 to take fifth individually.  She finished eight shots back of individual medalist Kennedy Holtsclaw of Indianapolis, who claimed top honors by three strokes at three-under 213.

Bradley shot a 306 to slip to fourth in the final team standings at 907 after entering the day in third.  Indianapolis ran away with the team title by 35 strokes at two-Over 864.  Tournament-host Ball State and Missouri Valley Conference rival Southern Illinois tied for second overall at 901.  The Braves were fourth in the field at 907, edging Bowling Breen and Texas A&M Corpus Christi, which both tied for fifth overall at 908.  Valley rivals Indiana State and Illinois State tied for 10th (928) and Evansville tied Central Michigan for 14th (950).

Senior Frankie Saban tied for 15th at 225 to join Medinger in the top 20, wrapping up the tournament with a 77.  The 15th-place finish was Saban's 12th career top-20 showing and she has now been among Bradley's top three finishers in 15 consecutive tournaments dating back to the spring of 2017.

Fellow senior Brooke Thompson and sophomore Maddie Hawkins both had the low rounds of the day for the Braves with the pair both carding four-over 76's Tuesday.  Thompson matched her season-best round with the 76 to tie for 34th overall at 231.  Hawkins also tied her lowest round of the young season with her final round 76 and finished two shots back of Thompson in a tie for 37th at 233.

Rounding out the team scoring for Bradley was junior Taylor Ledwein in a tie for 40th at 234 after shooting a 79 in the final round.

The Bradley women's golf team returns to action Oct. 1-3 at the Johnie Imes Invitational in Columbia, Mo.
