Game Recap: Soccer |
PEORIA, IL – The Bradley soccer team remained unbeaten after a 2-1 victory against Princeton in the 10th Danny Dahlquist Memorial Game on Sunday afternoon. The Braves improved to 3-0-1 after the first two weekends of play, while the Tigers drop to 0-2-0.

A pair of set piece goals from defenders led Bradley to the victory. Redshirt junior Walid Kherat netted his first collegiate goal in the game's 23rd minute to give the Braves the early lead. After a half hour delay due to lightning in the area, Bradley scored just three seconds following the restart when a cross from sophomore Younes Dayekh off a free kick found the head of Kherat, who knocked it in from close range.

The Tigers answered back less than six minutes later to square the contest at one. Danny Hampton's strike from 30 yards out found the netting in the 29th minute to draw even for Princeton.

Bradley added a second set piece goal in the 39th minute to pull ahead for good. Off a corner kick from senior Frank Bak, senior Alex Ciaramitaro headed in his second goal of the 2018 campaign for the 2-1 Bradley advantage at the break. Ciaramitaro's second goal in four games this year equals his total from his first three seasons combined in 48 career contests.

The defense took it from there as the Braves won their third-straight game. After allowing 10 shots in the opening 45 minutes of action, BU surrendered only five in the second half to preserve the victory. Redshirt junior Nathan Wisbey stopped both shots on goal after the intermission and with three saves total, earned his second win of the season in net.

Princeton finished with a 15-6 advantage in shots with a 6-4 edge in corner kicks.

The Braves look to maintain their momentum at the Bradley Invitational next weekend. Bradley hosts Eastern Illinois on Friday at 7 p.m. before welcoming Wisconsin to Shea Stadium for a Sunday contest at 6 p.m.
