PEORIA, Ill. – Fresh off winning the Crusader Collegiate earlier this week, Bradley Men's Golf continues a busy fall season by returning to the seventh annual Derek Dolenc Invitational Monday and Tuesday.

The Braves will be playing in the Derek Dolenc Invitational for the sixth consecutive year and have finished in the top four in three of the previous five trips to the par-71 Gateway National Golf Links, including third-place showings each of the last two seasons.  The Derek Dolenc Invite marks the third consecutive week of competition for Bradley and the halfway point of the fall schedule, which wraps up in mid-October.

Five other Missouri Valley Conference teams join Bradley in the 17-team field, with the Braves squaring off with Drake, Loyola, Missouri State, Northern Iowa and Valparaiso.  In addition to tournament-host SIU Edwardsville, the Derek Dolenc Invitational field also includes Creighton, DePaul, Eastern Illinois, Iowa Western, Murray State, Omaha, Tennessee Tech, UT-Martin, Weber State and Western Illinois.

BradleyBraves.com will provide links to live scoring for all three rounds of the Derek Dolenc Invitational.  Action gets underway at 8:15 a.m. both Monday and Tuesday with shotgun starts.

Senior Daniel Lensing was named MVC Golfer of the Week following his individual medalist title at the Crusader Collegiate in Chesterton, Ind.  Lensing owns a team-best 72.00 stroke average on the young season, shooting 75 or better in all six rounds of 2018-19 and carded a career-best five-under 211 to win top honors at the Crusader Collegiate.  Lensing tied for 23rd at last year's Derek Dolenc Invite for his best finish in three times playing in the event.  He owns a 74.33 career stroke average in six career rounds at Gateway National, with the 2014 event during his freshman season played in Edwardsville, Ill.

Fellow senior Drake Bushong finished in the top 10 of the Derek Dolenc Invitational both his freshman (T10th) and sophomore (T4th) years.  He has fired a 72 or better in five of his nine rounds at Gateway National as a Brave, posting a 73.33 career stroke average at the course.  Bushong has started the year with back-to-back top-20 showings and is third on the squad with a 72.67 average this fall.

Bradley's top returner from last year's Derek Dolenc Invite, junior Charles Jahn has been Bradley's third-best performer each of the first two tournaments this season.  Jahn tied for 16th last year at Gateway National at four-over par 217.  This season he has joined Lensing and senior Michael Mounce as the only Braves to shoot 75 or better in all six rounds after he tied for 13th at the Crusader Collegiate last time out.

Playing at the Derek Dolenc Invite for the first time, Mounce is second on the squad with a 72.33 stroke average on the year and tied for ninth at the Crusader Collegiate for his first top-10 finish of the season.  His twin brother Branden Mounce tied for 12th at the 2016-17 Derek Dolenc Invitational as a sophomore, firing a career-best two-under 69 in the second round.  Branden has gotten off to strong starts, owning a 71.50 average in opening rounds this season.

Bradley follows up the Derek Dolenc Invite with the Zach Johnson Invitational in Des Moines, Iowa, Oct. 1 & 2.
