Daniel Lensing Named Country Financial Scholar-Athlete Of The Week

PEORIA, Ill. -- Senior men's golfer Daniel Lensing (Spring Park, Minn./Orono) has been named the Bradley Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after claiming medalist honors at last week's Crusader Collegiate.

Lensing helped Bradley Men's Golf to the team title at the Crusader Collegiate with his first-place finish as the fifth-year senior edged Loyola's Devin Johnson by one stroke at five-under 211 at the par-72 Sand Creek Country Club. Lensing's score tied the fifth-best 54-hole score in program history. He opened the event with a one-under 71 and added a pair of two-under 70's in the final two rounds to post his first top-10 finish in a tournament since his debut as a Brave in September 2014. A finance major, Lensing owns a 3.75 cumulative grade point average.

Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.

Lensing and the Braves are back in action Oct. 1 & 2 at the Zach Johnson Invitational in Des Moines, Iowa.
