Cross Country 9/27/2018 3:30:00 PM
The Braves will be joined by the nation's best cross country programs this week at the annual running of one of the top regular-season meets at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational on Friday.

MEET INFO
A total of 33 nationally-ranked programs are running at Wisconsin. The women start the day with the 6K at 12:20 p.m. Seven of the country's top-10 teams are competing for the title with 15 total ranked schools and two more receiving votes.

The men will then run the 8K at 1 p.m. in Madison. Once again, seven of the nation's top-10 schools are competing on Friday with 18 nationally-ranked schools overall and four more who are receiving votes among the field of 34.

BRAVES IN THE RANKINGS
After claiming the Bradley Intercollegiate title in their most recent performance, the Bradley men have matched their all-time high ranking in the USTFCCCA Midwest Poll. The Braves currently sit in fourth in the rankings with four of the top five running on Friday. The region's top team and fifth-ranked squad in the nation, Iowa State, leads the way with Oklahoma State (#2 in MW, #22 overall) and Tulsa (#5 in MW) also joining the Braves in Wisconsin.

The Bradley women currently rank 10th in the Midwest – one of only two Valley schools listed in the rankings.

WELCOME BACK
Leading the way at the Bradley Intercollegiate was a number of familiar faces not seen in cross country in two years. Will Anderson and Gabby Juarez each claimed the individual title in their first meet since 2016. Anderson ran the 8K course in 24:59.5, while Juarez finished the three-mile trek in 17:02.1.

Additionally, the top six finishers overall for the Bradley men two weeks ago did not race once in 2017. Michael Ward, Luke Hoffert, Haran Dunderdale, Jack Franklin and Kerry Gschwendtner finished second through sixth on the team (and in the top eight overall) after missing the 2017 campaign.

UP NEXT
The Braves return to Peoria after their trip to Wisconsin for the Ideal Rentals Bradley Pink Classic on Friday, October 12. The meet begins at 1 p.m. with the Bradley women running in the Red Race at 3:15 p.m. and the men following in the Red Race at 4 p.m.
