DEKALB, IL – Seven of Bradley's eight players will take the court when the Braves open the 2018 fall tournament season by participating in the NIU Huskie Invite Friday and Saturday at the West Tennis Courts.

Twenty-four players representing Bradley, Green Bay, Northern Illinois and Omaha will compete in three singles brackets with one player from each school also competing in a fourth, round-robin draw.  Each of the singles players will play three matches.  Doubles action will be contested in two brackets with seven pairings in each.  Action will get underway Friday at 9 a.m. and again Saturday at 8 a.m. with the Vaughn Center in Aurora serving as a backup indoor facility in the event of rain.

Sophomore Sandra Maletin, a member of the 2018 Missouri Valley Conference All-Select Team, will compete in the top-seeded Red bracket with Bradley freshman Bozana Lojpur.  The Braves will be represented by the team's two upper classmen – senior Malini Wijesinghe and junior Natalia Barbery in the Black bracket, while freshmen Nikki Perlwitz and Mayu Tezuka will battle in the White bracket.  Sophomore Kinga Kovacs will play in a round-robin draw.

Bradley's doubles teams will be Barbery/Maletin and Lojpur/Wijesinghe in the Red bracket, with Perlwitz/Tezuka teaming in the Black bracket.  Kovacs will team with Mary Ellen Green in the Black doubles bracket.

Following this weekend's opening event, Bradley will have a week off from competition before hosting its lone fall tournament, the Bradley Invitational, Sept. 21-23 at the Markin Tennis Courts.
