VALPARAISO, IN – Redshirt junior forward TJ Rea (Peoria, IL/Notre Dame HS) scored his first career goal in the 109th minute, lifting Bradley (2-3-3, 1-1-1 MVC) to a 2-1 victory at Valparaiso (2-6-1, 1-3-0 MVC) Tuesday night at Brown Field.

Tuesday's game was a last-minute reschedule after Sunday's Missouri Valley Conference matchup between the two teams was cancelled in the 66th minute due to persistent lightning in the Peoria area.  The teams will return to Peoria for the rematch Oct. 27.

Bradley came into the game averaging 11.3 shots per game, but the Braves unleashed a consistent attack against Valparaiso Tuesday night, finishing the game with a 26-10 advantage in shots.

Despite the offensive advantage from the game's start, Valparaiso scored the opening goal in the 19th minute when Ryan Madondo was taken down in the box and converted the resulting penalty kick at 18:09.

The Braves found the equalizer in the 65th minute, despite being denied what they believed to be a penalty kick opportunity.  Jha'Lon Johnson was taken down at the edge of the penalty area, but the Braves were awarded a free kick from the right edge of the box, about six yards from the endline.  In what amounted to a short corner free kick, John Pollifrone lofted a service to the front of the goal, where junior forward Gerit Wintermeyer rose above the crowd to nod home his team-leading third goal of the year at 64:20.

Rea netted the winner at 108:13, when he collected a cross from senior forward Roman Schindler and beat Crusaders keeper Edvin Holst with a shot into the left side of the goal.

Tuesday's result came in Bradley's fourth overtime game of the season.  The Braves improved to 1-0-3 in overtime this year and extended their overall unbeaten streak in overtime to eight games (4-0-4), now the third-longest streak in program history.

Concluding what officially became a season-long, 4-game road swing Tuesday night, Bradley will return home Saturday to host Valley rival Drake in a 7 p.m. game at Shea Stadium.

Saturday's game will be the featured event in Bradley University's annual Homecoming Week. The tailgate lot at Shea Stadium will open an hour early Saturday, 4 p.m., and will feature a number of food trucks, as well as a large inflatable game from Fun on the Run.  Tailgate spaces may be reserved in advance for $10 each by contacting the Bradley Ticket Office at Renaissance Coliseum (309-677-2625).
