EVANSVILLE, IN – Bradley Soccer went on the road to play five of its first six Missouri Valley Conference games and the Braves (4-4-3, 3-2-1 MVC) emerged from their travels with 10 points in the league standings. The most recent trio of points came courtesy of a 1-0 win at Evansville (2-8-1, 0-5-0 MVC) Sunday afternoon at Arad McCutchan Stadium.

Junior forward Gerit Wintermeyer finished off a scoring chance set up by senior midfielder Jha'Lon Johnson in the 27th minute to net the game's lone goal. Johnson fed Wintermeyer on the right wing and the team scoring leader added to his totals by beating Evansville keeper Frederik Reimer with a shot inside the right post for his fourth tally of the season at 26:52. With his 18th career goal, Wintermeyer moved into a tie for 10th place on Bradley's career scoring list.

Senior goalkeeper Nathan Wisbey needed just one save in the 81st minute to record his fifth shutout of the season. Bradley outshot its hosts, 9-6, and the Braves allowed Evansville just one shot on goal.

Before the Bradley finishes the Valley season with four home games, the Braves first will complete a 3-game road swing Tuesday with a non-conference visit to Omaha. The matchup against former MVC coaching rival Bob Warming is slated for a noon kickoff from Omaha's Caniglia Field.
