Doubles Team Advances at ITA Regional

Natalia Barbery and Sandra Maletin advanced to the Round of 32 with a Friday victory at the ITA Central Regional Championships

NORMAN, OK – Bradley's No. 1 doubles team of senior Natalia Barbery and junior Sandra Maletin have advanced to the Round of 32 at the ITA Central Regional Championships, hosted by the University of Oklahoma at the Headington Family Tennis Center.

Barbery and Maletin started the tournament's second day by claiming an 8-7 (5) win against the Creighton duo of Erin Epperson and Emma Gener Friday morning. The Bradley pairing will face the tournament's No. 11 seed, Iowa State's Hsieh/Naklo, in the Doubles Main Draw Round of 32 Saturday.

After the Braves collected five wins during singles qualifying action Thursday, the Barbery/Maletin win was Bradley's lone victory Friday. Maletin and sophomore Bozana Lojpur both suffered Singles Main Draw opening-round losses to Power 5 Conference players – Lojpur to Oklahoma's Skyler Miller (6-3, 6-2) and Maletin to Missouri's Ellie Wright (7-5, 6-3). The doubles teams of Lojpur and Nikki Perlwitz and Nina Marjanovic and Victoria Sanchez Bronzetti suffered first-round losses in the Doubles Main Draw Friday morning.
