Game Recap: Men's Basketball |
Peoria, Ill. – Four Braves scored in double figures as the Bradley men's basketball team cruised past Millikin in its exhibition game on Tuesday night at Carver Arena, 91-52.

Bradley's 91 points are its most scored in a preseason exhibition game in 12 years since posting a 105-82 victory against Quincy prior to the 2007-08 campaign.

Freshman Ville Tahvanainen led the Braves with 18 points in the winning effort – making 7-of-9 field goals and 4-of-5 from 3-point range. Junior Elijah Childs picked up where he left off a year ago, registering a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Freshman Stephan Gabriel and sophomore Ja'Shon Henry also scored in double figures with 14 and 12 points, respectively.

It didn't take long for the Braves to take control of the contest, opening the game on a 23-5 run. The Braves made 57.1 percent of their shots during the early-game stretch, while forcing the Big Blue to just 2-of-17 shooting (11.8 percent) and into eight turnovers. The Braves never trailed by less than 16 the rest of the way en route to the 42-20 halftime lead.

The second half was more of the same for BU. After taking a 47-30 lead with 16:34 remaining, the Braves did not allow a field goal for more than 11 minutes of action as Bradley used a 30-3 stretch to grab a 77-33 lead with under six minutes remaining. Again, the BU defense forced Millikin to miss 12-straight field goals with eight turnovers during the stretch as Bradley finished off the 39-point victory.

Overall, Bradley shot 57.4 percent during the game and 41.2 percent from beyond the arc, while holding Millikin to just 30.5 percent shooting with 19 turnovers.

Bradley officially opens the 2019-20 season next Tuesday at Saint Joseph's. First tip in Philadelphia is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET.
