Cross Country 10/3/2019 3:19:00 PM
The Bradley cross country teams will take on some of the nation's best on Friday, running at Notre Dame's Joe Piane Invitational. The Braves are set to compete with a total of 21 nationally-ranked schools in the meet's blue races.

MEET INFO
The women's blue division will kick off the meet with the 5K race beginning at noon CT. A total of 10 nationally-ranked schools are among the 24 teams competing in the blue race, highlighted by No. 1 Colorado and No. 2 New Mexico.

The BU men then take the stage with the five-mile blue race beginning at 12:45 p.m. CT. The Braves are set to race against 22 other schools with 11 of their foes nationally-ranked.

BRAVES IN THE RANKINGS
The Bradley men are currently the fourth-ranked team in the USTFCCCA Midwest Region – matching the program's highest placement in the poll. The Braves were ranked fourth on four occasions last season before finishing second in the Midwest Championship to qualify for the NCAA Championship. BU was also fourth in the final two polls of the 2016 campaign.

The Bradley women, meanwhile, are currently the 11th-ranked team in the Midwest Region. Loyola is the highest-ranked MVC school in the women's poll and is currently 10th in the region.

LAST TIME AT NOTRE DAME
The Braves are competing at the Joe Piane Invitational for the first time since the 2016 season. The BU men finished 10th in the Blue Division race three years ago, finishing ahead of three nationally-ranked schools plus one team that was receiving votes. The Bradley women also turned in a strong performance by winning the Gold Division race and finishing first of six Valley schools.

UP NEXT
The Braves take a week off before competing in a pair of meets on Oct. 18. The BU men will race at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational, while the Braves also host the Bradley Pink Classic at Newman Golf Course.
