PEORIA, Ill. -- Senior women's golfer Taylor Ledwein (New Prague, Minn./New Prague) has been named the Bradley COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after a second-place finish at last week's Chippewa Invitational.

After missing the first three tournaments of the season due to injury, three-time All-MVC performer Taylor Ledwein took second in her first outing of the year and helped Bradley Women's Golf to a second-place team finish at last week's inaugural Chippewa Invitational in Birmingham, Mich.  She was tied for seventh overall after a first-round 76, but fired six birdies during the final round to post a three-under 69 and climb into second as she finished four back of medalist Katie Chipman of Grand Valley State.  Ledwein joined Danielle Lemek as the only Braves to card three career sub-70 rounds and earned the 14th top-10 finish of her career with the second-place showing.  A marketing (global supply chain management) major, Ledwein owns a 3.25 cumulative grade point average.

Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week.  The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.

Ledwein and the Braves wrapped up their fall schedule yesterday with a second-place team finish at the Little Rock Classic.  Bradley opens its spring schedule Feb. 21-23 at the Rio Verde Invitational in Rio Verde, Ariz.
