CHICAGO – Junior forward Gerit Wintermeyer (Wiesbaden, Germany) and fifth-year senior defender Walid Kherat (Peoria, IL/Richwoods HS) have been selected to the All-Missouri Valley Conference first team, according to a vote of the league's six head coaches announced during Thursday's MVC Men's Soccer Championship banquet.

Wintermeyer and Kherat are among six Bradley players honored on the 2019 MVC all-conference teams.  Fifth-year senior goalkeeper Nathan Wisbey (Rockford, IL/Boylan Catholic HS) and senior defender John Pollifrone (Fort Wayne, IN/Bishop Dwenger HS) both earned second-team recognition, fifth-year senior midfielder Jha'Lon Johnson (Bolingbrook,IL/Wheaton Academy) received honorable mention and forward Danny Collins (Springfield, IL/Springfield HS) was named to the All-Freshman Team.

Also a first-team All-MVC selection in 2018, Wintermeyer ranks among the league leaders in scoring, pacing the Braves with nine goals and 19 points.  He has scored each of Bradley's last five goals, including the game-winners in the last three games, helping the Braves advance to the semifinals of the MVC Tournament.

Kherat did not see any action for the Braves until his fourth year in the program, but now has started in the back line for each of Bradley's 35 games the last two seasons.  Twice named to the College Soccer News Team of the Week, Kherat has keyed a defensive effort that has allowed the opposition just 3.9 shots on goal per game while posting eight shutouts this season.

Limited to just 184 minutes in four games during his first three years with the Braves, Wisbey has held down the No. 1 goalkeeper position all year for Bradley.  He leads The Valley with eight shutouts and is second with his 0.89 goals against average.  Wisbey earned that eighth shutout Wednesday night, stopping a 22nd-minute penalty kick among his five saves in Bradley's 2-0 win against Evansville.

Pollifrone has been a consistent contributor to Bradley's defensive effort since he stepped on campus, starting for the 71st time in 73 games played Wednesday night.  In addition to his efforts on the field, Pollifrone is President of the Bradley Athletics Braves Council (student-athlete advisory board) and was one of two Missouri Valley Conference student-athletes to represent the league at the 2019 NCAA Leadership Forum.

Johnson redshirted as a freshman at Bradley in 2015, but has anchored the Braves midfield by playing in 71 games the last four seasons.  He enters Friday's MVC Tournament semifinal with a goal and three assists this season, pushing his career totals to four goals, seven assists and 15 points.

Collins has joined Wintermeyer at the top of the Bradley attack most of the season, appearing in 16 of Bradley's first 18 games.

After dispatching Evansville, 2-0, in Wednesday's quarterfinal round at the MVC Men's Soccer Championship, the Braves will take on tournament host and No. 2 seed Loyola Chicago in Friday's second semifinal game, scheduled for a 4 p.m. start at Loyola Soccer Park.
