John Pollifrone Named COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete Of The Week

PEORIA, Ill. -- Senior midfielder/defender John Pollifrone (Fort Wayne, Ind./Bishop Dwenger Catholic) has been named the Bradley COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after helping Bradley Soccer reach the semifinals of the 2019 Missouri Valley Conference Tournament.

Helping anchor one of the top defensive units in the MVC, Pollifrone helped the Braves post their conference-leading eighth shutout of the season in a Valley Tournament opening round game against Evansville last Wednesday. Bradley limited the Purple Aces to 11 shots (five on goal) in the 2-0 shutout which advanced the Braves to Friday's semifinal against eventual tournament champion Loyola. Pollifrone started 72 of the 74 matches he appeared in during his Bradley career. A criminology major, Pollifrone owns a 3.50 cumulative grade point average.

Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.
