Seniors John Pollifrone and Nathan Wisbey both have been named to the MVC Men's Soccer Scholar-Athlete First Team

ST. LOUIS – Bradley seniors John Pollifrone (Fort Wayne, IN/Bishop Dwenger HS) and Nathan Wisbey (Rockford, IL/Boylan Catholic HS) both have been named to the Missouri Valley Conference Men's Soccer Scholar-Athlete First Team, according to a vote of the league's six men's soccer sports information directors release Wednesday by the conference office.

Pollifrone is a repeat MVC Scholar-Athlete first-team selection, having also earned the honor in 2018. Sporting a 3.50 cumulative grade point average as a criminology major, Pollifrone was tops on the 2019 Bradley squad with 74 career games played, including 72 career starts. A second-team All-MVC defender this year for his play on the field, Pollifrone is serving as president of the Braves Council, Bradley University's student-athlete advisory board. He also has represented Bradley on the Missouri Valley Conference Student-Athlete Advisory Council each of the last two years and was one of two Valley student-athletes selected to attend the 2019 NCAA Leadership Forum.

A fifth-year senior who took advantage of his first season as Bradley's primary goalkeeper, Wisbey also joined Pollifrone on the All-MVC second team for his play between the pipes this season. In his 18 games this season, Wisbey posted an 8-6-4 record with 8.0 shutouts and a 0.95 goals against average. Boasting a 3.71 cumulative GPA while majoring in psychology, Wisbey has qualified for the MVC Commissioner's Academic each of the last two years and the Bradley Athletic Director's Honor Roll in each of his first seven semesters on The Hilltop.

Led by Pollifrone and Wisbey, the Braves completed their third consecutive winning season in 2019, finishing 8-7-4 overall and third in The Valley with a 5-3-2 league record.
