Rachel Pranger Named COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete Of The Week

PEORIA, Ill. -- Sophomore outside hitter Rachel Pranger (Glen Carbon, Ill./Edwardsville) has been named the Bradley COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after helping Bradley Volleyball close out the regular season with a pair of home wins.
 
Pranger turned in a pair of double-doubles, averaging team highs of 4.00 kills and 5.14 digs per set, while also collecting 0.43 aces per set in the two wins.  In Friday's sweep of Evansville, she tallied a match-high 19 digs and also had 12 kills, an assist, one ace and a block as Bradley locked up the #4 seed in the MVC Tournament with the victory. In the regular-season finale, Pranger tied for match-high honors with 16 kills and also notched 17 digs, two aces and a block in a four-set victory against Indiana State Saturday.  A marketing major, Pranger owns a 3.50 cumulative grade point average. 
 
Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week.  The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.
 
Pranger and Bradley Volleyball will face Valparaiso Thursday at 5 p.m. in the opening round of the 2019 Missouri Valley Conference Tournament, which will be played in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
