PEORIA, Ill. -- Senior runner Jake Hoffert (Yorkville, Ill./Yorkville) has been named the Bradley COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after winning the 2019 Missouri Valley Conference Cross Country individual title and helping Bradley Men's Cross Country to a fifth consecutive team championship.

Hoffert earned his second MVC individual title (also won in 2017) and became the first four-time All-MVC performer for Bradley Men's Cross Country, winning the individual crown by more than 15 seconds with an 8K time of 24:46.1.  He helped the Braves to their fifth consecutive MVC team championship to match the conference record for consecutive titles originally set by Wichita State (1971-75).  A manufacturing engineering major, Hoffert owns a 3.73 cumulative grade point average.

Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week.  The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.
