Game Recap: Men's Basketball |
Oxford, Ohio – The Bradley men's basketball team saw its three-game winning streak snapped at Miami (Ohio), falling, 71-55. The Braves are now 8-4 during the 2019-20 campaign, while the RedHawks improve to 6-6.

Freshman Ville Tahvanainen led Bradley with 12 points, while senior Nate Kennell also chipped in 11 points. Senior Koch Bar led BU with 10 rebounds.

Miami started the contest strong, using an early run to gain a double-digit lead. With the score knotted at seven, the RedHawks took a 12-point lead thanks to a 16-4 stretch. Bradley, however, would chip away at the lead before the intermission by responding with a 16-7 run to finish the half. Tahvanainen led BU with seven points during the stretch as Miami headed into the locker room with a slight 30-27 lead.

Unfortunately, the momentum would not carry over into the second half for the Braves. Miami quickly regained a double-digit lead thanks to a 9-1 run to start the period. Bradley would briefly pull within eight but Miami responded with a 3-pointer and a further 19-5 run by the RedHawks put the game out of reach.

Miami shot 39.0 percent in the winning effort, while hitting 11 triples. Bradley made just 32.7 percent of its baskets with a 6-of-17 clip from 3-point range.

The Braves are back in action next Saturday, hosting Toledo. First tip at Carver Arena is scheduled for 1 p.m.

Game Notes: Bradley's leading scorer and rebounder, Elijah Childs, missed his first career game with an injury suffered last week … Bradley is now 0-4 this season when allowing 70 or more points (8-0 when allowing fewer) … The Braves lost for the first time when Kennell makes at least two 3-pointers in a game (was 8-0 entering the game) … Tahvanainen has scored in double figures in two-consecutive games (had zero games of 10-plus points in the season's first 10 contests) … The freshman has also made 6-of-8 3-pointers in his last three games after going without a 3-point basket in the previous seven … The schools were meeting for the first time.
