PEORIA, Ill. -- Senior guard Nate Kennell (Metamora, Ill./Metamora Township) has been named the Bradley COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Monday after helping Bradley Men's Basketball to a 78-66 home win over Toledo.
Kennell knocked down a trio of three-pointers to become just the fifth player in program history with 200 career three-pointers as he finished with 15 points and career-high nine rebounds to go along with three steals in the victory over the Rockets to wrap up the non-conference portion of the schedule. A management information systems major, Kennell owns a 3.52 cumulative grade point average.Â
Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.
Kennell and Bradley Men's Basketball open Missouri Valley Conference play Tuesday, hosting Drake in a 6 p.m. game at Carver Arena.Â
