Game Recap: Men's Basketball |
Peoria, Ill. – Junior Elijah Childs eclipsed 20 points for the second-straight game, scoring 23 in an 83-52 victory for the Bradley men's basketball team against North Carolina A&T on Saturday. The Braves improve to 6-3 with the win, while the Aggies drop to 3-7.

Childs scored 17 of his 23 points after the halftime break to go with nine boards and two blocks in the winning effort. Four Braves reached double figures as freshman Stephan Gabriel chipped in a career-best 12 points, while seniors Koch Bar and Darrell Brown each added 10 points. Brown also registered a game-best six assists, while Bar had a career-best four to go with eight rebounds.

Bradley gained the early edge in the game but the Aggies stayed within striking distance and would not allow the Braves to pull away in the first half. With North Carolina A&T leading, 12-9, with 14 minutes remaining in the period, Bradley did not allow the Aggies to make a field goal for nearly 10 minutes of action in building an eight-point lead, 25-17. BU forced North Carolina A&T to miss 10-straight field goals to go with four turnovers during the 16-5 run to gain the edge for good. The Aggies pulled within two before two free throws from Bar right before the break gave Bradley a 32-28 edge at the intermission.

The second half was the "Elijah Childs Show" as the junior forward led a dominant Bradley run. During the first 12 minutes of the period, Bradley outscored the Aggies, 36-8, with Childs more than doubling North Carolina A&T's output by himself with 17 points during the run. Overall, Bradley made 14-of-18 field goals during the stretch (77.8 percent), while holding the Aggies to just 3-of-16 shooting (18.8 percent) for the 68-36 lead.

The Aggies were never closer than 25 the rest of the game en route to the 31-point victory, 83-52.

The Braves shot a season-best 53.6 percent in the winning effort, while making 6-of-14 from 3-point range (6-of-14). Bradley also held the Aggies to just 25.0 percent shooting with the Braves finishing with a 34-6 edge in points in the paint.

Bradley continues its three-game homestand on Tuesday, welcoming Maryville to Carver Arena. First tip is set for 6 p.m. on ESPN3.
