PEORIA, IL – Looking to extend a 4-match winning streak, Bradley Tennis will open a 4-match home stand by hosting a pair of in-state rivals this weekend.

The Braves (5-1) will welcome UIC to the Clubs at River City for a 5 p.m. dual match Friday, followed by a visit from Southern Illinois-Edwardsville at 10 a.m. Sunday.  Admission is FREE for all Bradley Tennis regular-season home matches.

By running its winning streak to four straight matches, Bradley has won five of its first six duals for the first time since the 2008-09 Braves opened 6-1.  The current four-match winning streak is the team's longest since sweeping back-to-back doubleheaders Feb. 18 and Feb. 25, 2017.

That 2017 win streak followed a 4-3 loss to UIC, which will visit the Braves for their next match Friday evening.  The Flames are 4-4, but two of their four wins have come against Bradley's Missouri Valley Conference rivals Illinois State (4-3) and Valparaiso (6-1).  The win against the Crusaders started UIC's current 2-match winning streak.

SIUE (3-3) also enters the weekend with a .500 record, but the Cougars will face UIC Saturday at the Clubs at River City before taking on Bradley Sunday morning.  Unlike UIC, however, all three of SIUE's losses have come to Valley competition:  vs. Missouri State (4-3), at Drake (5-2) and at UNI (4-3).

Bradley will close out its 4-match home stand next weekend by hosting two more in-state rivals: Western Illinois Feb. 23 (noon) and Chicago State Feb. 24 (2 p.m.).  Both matches are scheduled to be played indoors at the Clubs at River City.
