Bradley Track Heads to MVC Championship

The Bradley track and field teams head to Cedar Falls, Iowa for the 2019 Missouri Valley Conference Indoor Championship this weekend. The two-day meet begins on Saturday on the campus of Northern Iowa.

MEET INFO
Track events begin at 3 p.m. on Saturday with the finals of the 5,000m run and distance medley relay scheduled for the opening day of action. All remaining finals are slated for Sunday with track events scheduled to begin at 1:25 p.m.

Both days are will feature a live broadcast on ESPN3 with Saturday's coverage beginning at 6:30 p.m. and Sunday's at 1:15 p.m.

The top three finishers in each event will be named to the All-Missouri Valley Conference Team.

2018 MVC RECAP
The Bradley men placed fifth at the 2018 MVC Indoor Championship – matching the program's best finish since 1970 when it placed fourth of five teams that year. The Braves also scored a team-record 78 points (previous best was 70 in 1979).

Michael Ward swept the 3,000m and 5,000m titles, winning his first two individual races at the conference indoor meet. Additionally, Daniel Gagne became the second-straight Brave to win the mile crown after Haran Dunderdale did so in 2017 before redshirting last season, while Gagne, Alec Hartman, David Shadid and Nick Porter won the distance medley relay title.

Natalie Burant led the BU women by placing fourth in the 5,000m run, while the DMR also placed fourth at the meet. Hannah Witczak, Niamh Markham and Brooke Nusser also scored for BU as the Braves improved their standing by one place last year and finished eighth.
