PEORIA, Ill. -- For the second consecutive week a Bradley Women's Golfer has been selected as the Missouri Valley Conference Golfer of the Week with senior Frankie Saban earning the distinction after a second-place finish at the Rio Verde Invitational according to an announcement by the league office Wednesday afternoon.

Saban earned Valley Golfer of the Week honors for the first time in her career after she finished runner-up in the individual standings at the 17th annual Rio Verde Invitational, helping Bradley tie for fifth in the 18-team field.  She fired her lowest round of the spring with a one-over 72 in the opening round of the event Saturday and matched that score in Sunday's final round to finish two shots back of medalist Claire Hernandez (Western Michigan) at two-over 144.

The two-round total of 144 in the snow-shortened event played at the Rio Verde Country Club's par-71 Quail Run Golf Course tied the second-lowest 36-hole score in Bradley history behind Kelly Amundrud's 143 at the 2010 Butler Fall Invitational.  Saban earned her second top-10 finish of the year and the seventh of her career in Bradley's annual trip to Arizona.

This season, Saban is second on the team with a 76.76 stroke average to rank fifth in the MVC.

Saban and the Braves have a break from competition before returning to action March 24 & 25 at the Babs Steffens Hatter Collegiate in Daytona Beach, Fla.
