DURHAM, NC – Bradley junior shortstop Luke Shadid (Peoria, IL/Notre Dame HS) is one of four finalists for this week's USA Baseball Golden Spikes Award/D1Baseball.com Performance of the Week in recognition of the first recorded cycle in Bradley Baseball history Saturday at UNLV.

While producing the first cycle on record in Bradley's 119-year baseball history, the single (2), double, triple and home run came in a 5-for-6 performance overall, Shadid became the first player in Bradley history to record two career 5-hit games.  He led off Saturday's 8-5 victory with a home run, singled in both the second and fourth innings, tripled in the sixth and doubled in the eighth inning.  He also stole a base, scored three runs and drove in two.

Fans may vote for this week's Performance of the Week via USA Baseball's Golden Spikes Award Twitter handle - @USAGoldenSpikes through midday Tuesday.

Batting a team-best .368 from his leadoff spot, Shadid has helped the Braves to a 7-5 record, despite all 12 games being played on the road.  Bradley won 2-of-3 games at Central Arkansas, during the SAF Dirt Classic in the Nashville area versus Austin Peay and Middle Tennessee State and at UTSA, before going 1-2 this past weekend at UNLV.  The Braves will return to action by playing five games in the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational, beginning with Sunday's game against Keystone.
