PEORIA, Ill. -- Junior women's golfer Taylor Ledwein (New Prague, Minn./New Prague) has been named the Bradley COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after winning medalist honors at the Babs Steffens Hatter Collegiate in Daytona Beach, Fla.

Earning the first individual title of her collegiate career, Ledwein claimed the top spot at the Babs Steffens Hatter Collegiate by three strokes, while helping Bradley Women's Golf to a second-place team finish in the 12-team field.  Ledwein turned in the lowest 54-hole score of her Bradley career, finishing at one-over par 217 at the par-72 LPGA International Hills Course in Daytona Beach., Fla., to finish three shots ahead of Lamar's Laura Pasalodos Barcelo for medalist honors.  After a one-over par 73 in Sunday's opening round, Ledwein fired a one-under 71 in the afternoon and was tied atop the individual leaderboard at the end of the first day.  She returned Monday to card a one-over 73 as she posted the 10th-lowest 54-hole score (217) in Bradley history.  A marketing (global supply chain management) major, Ledwein owns a 3.26 cumulative grade point average.

Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week.  The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.

Ledwein and the Bradley Women's Golf Team host the Bradley Spring Invitational Saturday & Sunday at WeaverRidge Golf Club.
