PEORIA, IL - For the fifth consecutive year, Bradley Baseball is joining the fight against childhood cancer by raising awareness and funds for the Vs. Cancer Foundation.  Having raised more than $42,000 for the Vs. Cancer organization through the first four years of their participation, the Braves have set a goal of raising $15,000 this year by directing donors to their team page: https://team.curethekids.org/team/209458.  To help raise awareness for their efforts, the Braves will host their annual postgame head-shaving party on the center field concourse at Dozer Park immediately following Saturday's game against Southern Illinois.

MVC SERIES #2
•    Bradley rides a season-long, 7-game winning streak into this weekend's Missouri Valley Conference series against in-state rival Southern Illinois.
•    Both Bradley and SIU will be playing their second Missouri Valley Conference series of the 2019 campaign this weekend when the Salukis visit Dozer Park.
•    Both teams will be looking to make up ground on the early-season league leaders after dropping their first series: Bradley, 3-games-to-0 at home to Evansville March 29-31, and Southern Illinois, 2-games-to-1, last weekend at home to Missouri State.

OWNING THE LAND OF LINCOLN
•    After posting a 12-3 (.800) record against teams from its home state of Illinois in 2018, Bradley is 7-0 against in-state competition this year.
•    Benefiting from rain that wiped out the game-tying effort in the sixth inning of the series finale in Carbondale, SIU spoiled Bradley's in-state dominance by winning 2-of-3 in last year's season series.
•    The Braves are 50-17 (.746) against Illinois teams since the start of the 2014 season.
•    Included in that record is a 36-15 (.706) mark against eight of the nine Illinois NCAA Division I "state" schools (no games vs Eastern Illinois).

7-GAME WINNING STREAK
•    Bradley carries a season-long, 7-game winning streak into this weekend's series.
•    The current win streak is Bradley's longest since an 8-game run April 13-25, 2018.
BRADLEY'S LAST WINNING STREAK OF ...
7 Games:  April 13-25, 2018 (8 games)
8 Games:  April 13-25, 2018
9 Games:  April 22-May 12, 2007 (10 games)
10 Games:  April 22-May 12, 2007

DOZER PARK WINNING STREAKS
•    In addition to winning its last seven games overall, Bradley has won its last six games at Dozer Park.
•    The current, 6-game home winning streak matches the second-longest in Dozer Park history (2003-19).
•    The team's record Dozer Park winning streak is seven games from April 23-29, 2008.
•    Bradley has not won more than seven consecutive home games since a 10-game streak from March 31-April 23, 1996.

SERIES HISTORY - SOUTHERN ILLINOIS
Games 167-169:  SIU leads 88-77-1, BU leads 37-31 at home

•    Series records date to a 2-game split May 30-31, 1952 in Carbondale.
•    Since 2014, Bradley owns a 9-5 record against Southern Illinois.
•    Though Bradley owns a 37-31 home record against SIU, the Salukis are 13-11 at Dozer Park.

NATIONAL ERA LEADER
•    Bradley enters Friday's series opener leading the nation with a 2.09 staff ERA.
•    The Braves set the Missouri Valley Conference season record with a 0.94 ERA in 1957, but no Valley team has finished a season below Wichita State's 2.53 ERA in 1982 since that 1957 campaign.

NO MORE THAN ONE
•    Bradley has not allowed more than one earned run in any of the seven games during its current 7-game winning streak.
•    The team boasts a 0.47 ERA during the win streak.
•    Of the 14 pitchers to appear in the last seven games, 11 have 0.00 ERA's
•    In the team's 19 wins this year, the staff boasts a 1.29 earned run average.
•    Only four of the 16 hurlers to appear in any of Bradley's 19 wins have an ERA above 1.67 in those games.

SACRIFICING FOR THE TEAM
•    Bradley ranks 11th nationally with 27 sacrifice bunts and 14th with 20 sacrifice flies through 29 games.
•    Bradley, UCLA (T14th and T6th) and Louisiana (T6th and T14th) are the only three teams that rank among the nation's top 15 in both sacrifice bunts and sac flies.
•    Bradley's 47 combined sacrifices have come from 14 different players.

LOOKING AHEAD
•    Following this weekend's series versus Southern Illinois, the Braves will play eight of their next nine games on the road, beginning Tuesday at Illinois and continuing next weekend at Dallas Baptist.
