CHESTERTON, Ind. -- Junior Taylor Ledwein earned her fourth consecutive top-10 finish, placing fourth, and Bradley Women's Golf carded the third lowest round of the day (306) to climb into third in the final team standings at the 2019 Missouri Valley Conference Women's Golf Championship.

Ledwein, who earned her team-best fifth top-10 showing of the season and 13th of her career, carded a three-over par 75 during Tuesday's final round at the par-72 Sand Creek Country Club to finish at seven-over 223.  Missouri State's Abby Cavaiani defeated Sydney Eaton of Northern Iowa on the second playoff hole for the medalist title after the two finished tied atop the leaderboard at four-over (220).  Indiana State's Thilda Staubo was one back of the leaders at five-over 221 alone in third.

Southern Illinois claimed its first team title since winning the 2007 crown at WeaverRidge Golf Club in Peoria, finishing at 905 to top second-place finisher Northern Iowa (912) by seven shots.  Bradley finished third for the third time in four seasons and is the only team to finish in the top half at the league championship in each of the last 10 years after finishing two shots back of Northern Iowa at 914 to capture third.  The Braves edged fourth-place Indiana State (915) by a single stroke and were two shots better than fifth-place Drake (916).

Ledwein and senior Frankie Saban were both named All-Missouri Valley Conference performers for the second consecutive year.  In fact, Ledwein has earned All-Valley honors each of her three seasons and is now the fifth three-time All-MVC honoree in program history as she closed the 2018-19 season with the fifth lowest season stroke average (75.50) in Bradley history.

Senior Brooke Thompson missed her second career top-10 finish by a stroke, finishing off a 12-over 228 with a final round 77 to finish alone in 11th.  Thompson earned her second top-10 finish of the season as she posted her lowest 54-hole score since the October 2017 in her last collegiate tournament.  She finished with a 79.15 career stroke average, which is good for 13th all-time at Bradley.

After carding a pair of 77's during Monday's opening day, junior Megan Medinger once again turned in a five-over 77 Tuesday to tie for 15th overall at 231.  Medinger ended the year third on the team with a 78.04 stroke average, which was over four strokes better than her career average entering the season.

Freshman Elyse Emerzian continued her late season surge, wrapping up the MVC Championship with a 79 to finish at 234 in a tie for 25th.  She was two shots short of earning her first top-20 finish as a Brave.

Saban improved her score in each of the final two rounds, capping her Bradley career with a five-over 77 Tuesday.  She tied for 29th in the field at 236 and the two-time All-MVC performer finished the year with a 76.54 season stroke average which is 14th among Bradley season totals.  Saban finished her time on The Hilltop ninth all-time with 105 career rounds played, while her 77.83 career stroke average is good for sixth in Bradley history.
