Maletin Wins Third MVC Singles Player-of-the-Week Honor

Bradley's No. 1 Singles player helped the Braves to a 5-2 win Sunday at Missouri State

ST. LOUIS – For the third time this season, Bradley sophomore Sandra Maletin (Belgrade, Serbia) has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Singles Player of the Week, according to an announcement from the league office Tuesday afternoon.

Maletin previously captured the award Feb. 12 and Feb. 26 and the Braves now boast one of The Valley's two weekly honors in 10 of the season's 13 weeks to date.

Maletin improved to 21-7 overall in singles competition this year, including 13-5 in the No. 1 position during the spring dual match season, by rolling to a 6-3, 6-2 win in Sunday's 5-2 victory at Missouri State. Her .750 winning percentage for the season is the best by a Bradley Tennis player since 1992-93 and is the best ever by a Bradley player to face an exclusive NCAA Division I schedule.

Led by Maletin's play at the top of the order, Bradley (13-7, 2-1 MVC) has secured the team's first winning record since 1992-93 and the Braves are closing in on the most wins in program history, as well as their first-ever winning Valley record. Bradley will close out the 2018-19 regular season by hosting Drake Saturday and UNI Sunday, both 11 a.m. matches on campus at the David Markin Tennis Courts.
