PEORIA, IL – Three Bradley pitchers combined on a 2-hit shutout and right fielder Jean-Francois Garon drove in three runs, leading the Braves (13-10) to a 10-0 victory against Western Illinois (8-18) in eighth innings Tuesday night at Dozer Park.

With their seventh consecutive win against Western Illinois, the Braves improved to 45-17 (.726) against in-state competition since the start of the 2014 season.

Senior LHP Cole Cook (W 3-0) entered the game ranked 39th nationally with a 1.47 earned run average and he lowered his mark to 1.23 on the year by allowing just two hits with six strikeouts in 6.0 scoreless innings.  Cook faced just one hitter more than the minimum and he was responsible for 11 of the 18 outs by fielding five balls hit back to him to go along with his six strikeouts.

Western Illinois starter Alex Dorethy (L 0-4) took the loss, despite allowing just one run on three hits in his 5.0 innings.  The Braves did not break through against Dorethy until Keaton Rice led off the fifth inning with a double to center field, took third on a wild pitch and scored on a Christian Dominguez sacrifice fly.

Bradley broke the game open with four runs in the sixth inning, highlighted by back-to-back doubles by Eli Rawlinson (2 RBI's) and Andy Shadid.  Shadid added his first home run of the year to start the eighth inning.  Garon had a bases-clearing double later in the eighth and LF Dan Bolt ended the game with a RBI single to invoke the 10-run rule.

The Braves finished the night with 12 hits.  Garon (2-5), Bolt (2-4), Rawlinson (2-4), Shadid (2-4) and Rice (2-2) all collected two hits.

Bradley will continue its season-long, 9-game home stand Wednesday (6 p.m.) by hosting Southern Illinois-Edwardsville, which is led by former Bradley associate head coach Sean Lyons.  Junior RHP Jed Moscot (2-1, 2.77 ERA) is scheduled to start Wednesday's game on the mound for the Braves.

Notes:  Bradley began the day ranked second nationally with a 2.55 staff earned run average and the Braves lowered their ERA to 2.45 with their eighth shutout innings Tuesday … In addition to Cook, RHP Mitch Janssen tossed a scoreless seventh inning to lower his season ERA to 1.74, while RHP Ben Cilano worked the eighth inning to drop his ERA to 1.08 … Garon is 8-for-15 (.533) with three doubles and a home run in the last three games, raising his season batting average to .324 … Rice entered the game ranked 29th nationally by averaging 0.95 walks per game and he drew two more free passes Tueday.
