PEORIA, IL - Bradley junior LF Dan Bolt (Morton, IL/Morton HS) was among 16 players recognized by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper as National Players of the Week, powered by Diamond, according to an announcement from the publication Monday morning.  He added Missouri Valley Conference Player-of-the-Week accolades later Monday afternoon, according to the weekly release of the baseball notebook from the league office.

Bolt becomes the third Bradley player honored by Collegiate Baseball this season, following senior CF Andy Shadid and sophomore LHP Brooks Gosswein, who both were featured among the national award winners April 8.  He becomes the sixth Bradley player to be included in the weekly feature since 2014.  He joins Shadid (Feb. 25) as the second MVC Player of the Week this season, while becoming the fifth Bradley position player to earn weekly Valley honors since 2014.

Bolt helped the Braves (24-12) to a 4-game road split at Illinois and Dallas Baptist by batting .500 (8-16) with four home runs and seven RBIs.  Along the way, he extended his hitting streak to a team season-best 14 games.  He was 3-for-4 with a double and two home runs in Tuesday's 12-8 win at Illinois and that double also left the year as a RBI ground rule double in the eighth inning to put the Braves ahead for good, 9-8.  Bolt was 1-for-4 in Friday's 2-1 win at Dallas Baptist, scoring what proved to be the winning run after singling in the seventh inning.  He then started Saturday's doubleheader at DBU by going 2-for-3 with a home run and finished the road trip by going 2-for-4 with a 3-run home run in the first inning and a sacrifice bunt that positioned the eventual tying run in the seventh inning in Saturday's nightcap.

Having raised his average 71 points during his current, 14-game hitting streak, Bolt is batting .331 and now leads the Braves with eight home runs and a .581 slugging percentage, while sharing the team lead with 30 RBI.

Bradley will make a brief appearance at home Tuesday night by hosting Illinois in the return game of their 2-game series.  First pitch against the Illini is scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday night at Dozer Park.  The Braves then will hit the road for four more games, beginning with a weekend Missouri Valley Conference series Friday (2 p.m.), Saturday (12 p.m.) and Sunday (11 a.m.) at Missouri State.
