I-74 SERIES RETURN GAME
•    Bradley Baseball makes a brief return to Dozer Park Tuesday night to host its Big Ten Conference I-74 rival Illinois in the back half of the home-and-home series.
•    The Braves slugged six home runs en route to a 12-8 victory against the Illini last Tuesday night at Illinois Field.
•    Bradley will be trying for its first 2-game series sweep against Illinois since taking both games of the 1983 series, 11-7 at Illinois and 7-6 at the old Meinen Field.
•    The teams have played 2-game sets in eight other seasons since 1983, splitting five times with Illinois sweeping the other three years.

SERIES HISTORY - ILLINOIS
Game 67:  Illinois leads 42-23-1, 16-12 at Bradley
•    Tuesday's game will be the 67th in the all-time series between Bradley and Illinois.
•    Though the Illini own a 42-23-1 all-time lead in the series, the bulk of the 20-game advantage was built by winning 26 of the first 32 meetings (26-5-1).
•    Starting with Bradley's 2-game, home-and-home sweep in 1983, the series stands at 17-17.
•    Since the turn to the 21st century, Bradley owns a 10-5 series advantage and the Braves will be trying for their third straight win against Illinois Tuesday night.

GAME 1 RECAP
•    Bradley and Illinois started this year's home-and-home series last Tuesday night at Illinois Field, where Bradley clubbed its way to a 12-8 victory.
•    The Braves slugged six home runs last Tuesday, equaling the second-most ever against a NCAA Division I opponent (7 vs. Detroit in 1957).
•    After Illinois hit three home runs in a 4-run fourth inning to reclaim an 8-7 lead, five Bradley pitchers combined to blank the Illini on three hits the rest of the game.
•    Freshman 1B Connor O'Brien hit a game-tying home run in the seventh inning and junior LF Dan Bolt, who hit two home runs earlier in the game, delivered a ground rule RBI double in the eighth inning for the go-ahead run.

OWNING THE LAND OF LINCOLN
•    After posting a 12-3 (.800) record against teams from its home state of Illinois in 2018, Bradley is 11-0 against in-state competition this year.
•    The Braves are 54-17 (.761) against Illinois teams since the start of the 2014 season.
•    Included in that record is a 40-15 (.727) mark against eight of the nine Illinois NCAA Division I "state" schools (no games vs Eastern Illinois).

LOOKING AHEAD
•    Bradley will hit the road for its next four games, beginning with a weekend Missouri Valley Conference series at Missouri State.
•    Similar to the Bradley/Peoria Chiefs stadium share of Dozer Park, the Springfield Cardinals share Hammons Field with Missouri State and the St. Louis Double A affiliate will be hosting Frisco in a 3-game set this weekend, creating the unusual weekend start times for the college series.
•    The Braves will visit Chicago State May 1, before opening its final, 7-game home stand May 3 against Valley rival Valparaiso at Dozer Park.
