SPRINGFIELD, MO – Senior RHP Sam Lund allowed just two hits in 5.0 shutout innings and the bottom two hitters in the Bradley order combined for four hits and three RBI, leading the Braves (27-13, 7-5 MVC) to a 6-5 win against host Missouri State (13-30, 4-8 MVC) Sunday afternoon at Hammons Field.

By winning all three games in the weekend series, Bradley earned its first-ever, 3-game road sweep at Missouri State.  The Braves, who have won 15 of their last 18 games, had lost 15 consecutive regular-season road games against Missouri State and had won only one previous road series against the Bears, sweeping a doubleheader in a weather-shortened series in 1993.

Bradley senior CF Andy Shadid, who drove in six runs in his final two at-bats of Saturday's 16-9 win against Missouri State, gave the Braves a 2-0 lead in the second inning Sunday by drilling a 2-run double to left field.  Sophomore DH Eli Rawlinson followed with a RBI single for a 3-0 lead.

With Lund (W, 3-3) holding the Bears down, Bradley eventually built its lead to 6-0, thanks to Nick McMurray's 2-run single in the fourth inning and Luke Shadid's RBI ground out in the sixth.

The Bears began to rally against Bradley's bullpen, starting with Dakota Kotowski's solo home run in the seventh.  Kotowski added a RBI double in the eighth inning and eventually scored on a passed ball later in the inning to pull Missouri State to within 6-5.

Junior RHP Theron Denlinger got the final five outs, however, to earn his fifth save of the year.

Riding a 3-game winning streak, the Braves are scheduled to conclude a 4-game road swing Wednesday by visting Chicago State in the final non-conference road game of the regular season.  Bradley will host Valparaiso in a weekend series at Dozer Park with all three games Friday, Saturday and Sunday scheduled for noon starts.
