Game Recap: Baseball | | Bobby Parker, Associate AD for Communications
PEORIA, IL – In his third start of the season, sophomore catcher Kyle Antos was 2-for-3 with a walk and one of three Bradley players to drive in three runs, helping the Braves (15-10) cruise to a 20-1 victory in seven innings against NCAA Division III Eureka (6-10) Friday night at Dozer Park.

Junior SS Luke Shadid was 1-for-1 with three walks in his four plate appearances and he tied the Dozer Park collegiate record with four runs scored.  Third baseman Brendan Dougherty was 2-for-3 with a double and three RBI's and freshman 1B Connor O'Brien also drove in three runs on his first career home run.

Bradley scored at least 20 runs at home for the fourth time in its 17-year Dozer Park history and the 19-runs margin of victory matched the third largest in stadium history (the Braves beat Eureka 20-0 April 2, 2013 and 21-1 March 29, 2011).

Senior RHP Mitch Janssen (W 2-1) lowered his season earned run average to 1.47 by allowing one unearned run on three hits in 5.2 innings.  Janssen did walk five, but offset that number with eight strikeouts.  Junior LHP Ben Olson retired all four batters he faced to close out the game, helping Bradley lower the nation's No. 2 earned run average to 2.32 on the season.

The Braves will continue their Missouri Valley Conference bye weekend with a 2-game series versus Robert Morris-Springfield, Saturday and Sunday at noon at Dozer Park.

NOTES:  Senior IF/P Jacob Hurst beat out an infield single for his first career in his second career at bat when he entered as a pinch-hitter in the fifth inning … Freshman catcher Adam Brian also collected his first career hit in his first career at bat as a pinch-hitter in the sixth inning … Senior RF Jean-Francois Garon continued his recent hot streak by going 3-for-4 with a walk and three runs scored, raising his season batting average to .342 … Eureka's four pitchers combined to throw 228 pitches in six innings, though the fourth pitcher, Brandon Porter, limited the Braves to two runs on eight hits with five strikeouts on his 73 pitches over the final 3.1 innings.
