Bradley Track Clocks Four Top-10 Finishes at Indiana State

Four Braves finished in the top 10 at Indiana State's Gibson Invitational on Saturday afternoon with three adding their name to the BU record with top-10 times in school history.

Senior Kathryn Adelman recorded her fastest career 800m to lead the BU women – placing third at 2:11.26. Adelman topped her previous PR by 0.36 seconds for the seventh-best time in school history.

Freshman Hannah Ivy added the sixth-best mark in the BU record book in the 400m dash, placing seventh overall on Saturday with a time of 58.76.

Redshirt freshman Evan Mitchell led the BU men by placing fourth in the 3,000m steeplechase, clocking a time of 9:37.28. He topped his previous PR by nearly 13 seconds for the 10th-best mark in school history in the event.

Senior David Shadid rounded out the top-10 performances for the Braves by placing second in the 400m dash at 48.16. The senior missed his PR (and second-best time in school history) by 0.45 seconds.

Overall, the Braves posted 13 PR times on Saturday. In the men's 1,500m run, three Braves clocked their collegiate bests marks – Kerry Gschwendtner (4:03.06), Jack Franklin (4:03.63) and Nikolas Hess (4:04.08). Ivy added her PR in the 200m at 26.17 and the 400m at 58.76 to lead the BU women on the day.

The Braves are back in action next Saturday, competing at the Illinois Twilight.
