Senior men's golfer Drake Bushong is this week's featured athlete in the Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete Spotlight, presented by Enterprise Bank and Trust Company.

The only three-time All-MVC performer in Bradley Men's Golf history, Bushong was the medalist at the 2018 MVC Championship as he helped the Braves to the first Valley team title in program history.  He currently leads the team with a 72.89 stroke average on the year, which would be the lowest season average in school history.

Bushong is currently fifth in career rounds played and his 73.74 ranks as the second lowest career stroke average all-time at Bradley.  He has claimed four medalist titles during his time on The Hilltop and owns 17 career top-10 finishes, including two in 2018-19.

A marketing major with a 3.66 cumulative grade point average, Bushong is a two-year representative to the Braves Council.  His community service efforts include volunteering at the Crittenton Center's Festival of Trees along with being active with both Big Brothers Big Sisters and the Boys and Girls Club.

To qualify for the Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete Spotlight, student-athletes must carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.20, completed at least one academic year at a Valley institution and must be at least a sophomore in academic standing. In addition to the academic qualifications, student-athletes are evaluated on their campus involvement and community service.

Bushong and the Bradley Men's Golf team play their final tournament before the MVC Championship Monday and Tuesday at the Old Waverly Collegiate Championship in West Point, Miss.
