Jahn Ties For Third To Pace Braves At Ryman Intercollegiate

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Junior Charles Jahn wrapped up his first top-10 finish of the spring and second of the season, tying for third to help pace Bradley Men's Golf to a sixth-place team finish in the 16-team field at the Ryman Hospitality Intercollegiate Tuesday.
 
Jahn entered the final round of play at the par-71 Richland Country Club with a one-shot lead on the field after firing a career-best three-under 68 in Monday's opening round and earned the highest finish of his collegiate career, tying for third overall at the Ryman Intercollegiate.  He wrapped up play with a two-over 73 to finish at one-under 141, which tied for the third-lowest 36-hole tournament score in program history and was the lowest 36-hole score by a Brave since 2013-14. 
 
Brian Richards of Southern Miss claimed the medalist title at five-under 137 with a final round 67 and USC Upstate's Jordan Warnock was second overall at three-under 139, while Jahn was two shots back in a tie for third with his one-under 141. 
 
Bradley entered the day in second after a first-round 286, but slipped to sixth in the final team standings at 588 with a final round 302.  USC Upstate had the low round of the low team-round of the tournament at three-under 281 in Tuesday's final round to claim the team title at five-over par 573.  Southern Miss was second at 576 and Samford rounded out the top three in the standings at 14-over par 582. 
 
The Braves were two shots behind fourth-place finish Lipscomb (586) and one shot back of fifth-place Austin Peay (587), with Bradley's score of 588 marking the fifth-lowest 36-hole team score in program history.  BU edged seventh-place North Alabama by one stroke and had a 10-shot edge on eighth-place Bowling Green (598).  Missouri Valley Conference rival Loyola took 14th overall, 25 shots back of the Braves at 613. 
 
Senior Michael Mounce fired a team-high five birdies Tuesday and tied for 19th overall at 146 to pick up his fifth top-20 finish of the year as he matched his first round score with a two-over 73 on the final day.  Fellow senior Drake Bushong turned in a final-round 81 and tied for 33rd overall at 151. 
 
Senior Daniel Lensing was one shot behind Bushong in a tie for 38th at 152, closing out the tournament with a six-over 77. Senior Branden Mounce rounded out the team scoring for the Braves with a 79 to earn a share of 63rd in the individual standings at 156. 
 
Bradley returns to action next week, playing in the Old Waverly Collegiate Championship hosted by Mississippi State, April 15 & 16 in West Point, Miss.
