Bradley Baseball junior SS Luke Shadid (Peoria, IL/Notre Dame H.S.) has been voted to the 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-District V first team and now will be eligible for Academic All-
America consideration, according to an announcement from the College Sports Information Directors of America Thursday.
 
To be nominated for the Google Cloud Academic All-America consideration, student-athletes must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average and must have completed at least one full calendar year at the nominating institution while reaching at least sophomore athletic eligibility.  CoSIDA's District 5 is comprised of schools from Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and Michigan.
 
Shadid was one of 11 Bradley Baseball players nominated for 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-America consideration.  Sporting a 3.67 cumulative grade point average, Shadid is on pace to graduate next week, after just three years, with his business degree in finance.  A qualifier for the Missouri Valley Conference Honor Roll in each of his first two years and the MVC Commissioner's Academic Excellence Award in 2018, Shadid was a first-team Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete selection in 2018.
 
Currently leading the Braves with a .337 batting average, Shadid leads The Valley in run production with 42 runs scored and 37 RBI's with eight home runs in Bradley's 44 games from his leadoff spot in the Bradley order.  With 12 doubles and two triples, as well, Shadid is slugging .554.
 
The 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-America Team will be announced in June.
