School-Record 18 Braves Earn MVC Track Scholar-Athlete Honors

The Bradley track teams were honored for their work both on the track and in the classroom on Wednesday as a school-record 18 Braves were recognized on the Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete Teams.

Seniors Will Anderson, Haran Dunderdale, David Shadid and Michael Ward, juniors Alec Hartman, Jake Hoffert, Luke Hoffert, Simon Paige and Scott Seymour and sophomores Michael Hahndorf and Ben Wagoner all represented the Bradley men's team as honorees.

Seniors Kathryn Adelman, Morgan Lain, Niamh Markham and Brooke Nusser, juniors Abby Jockisch and Gabby Juarez and sophomore McKenzie Altmayer all earned the accolade for the BU women's team.

The 18 total honorees top the previous school standard of 15, set just last season. Additionally, the men's team set its record with 11 student-athletes earning the accolade – previous high was 10 last year – while the women's team matched its program standard with seven (also in 2013-14).

To earn a spot on the MVC Scholar-Athlete Teams, a student-athlete must place in the top eight of an individual event or the top three of a relay at the Missouri Valley Conference Championship and hold at least a cumulative 3.2 grade point average, while being a sophomore in both athletic and academic standing.

The Braves are back in action this weekend at the NCAA West Preliminary. The regional meet begins on Thursday on the campus of Sacramento State with the running of the 800m and 10,000m.
