Bradley Tennis graduate Malini Wijesinghe '19 added to her lengthy list of awards when the Intercollegiate Tennis Association named her the Central Region recipient of the 2019 ITA Cissie Leary Award for Sportsmanship.

The NCAA Division I women's tennis national ITA/Cissie Leary Award for Sportsmanship was announced for Wake Forest senior Emma Davis during the NCAA Championships May 19 in Orlando.  The award goes to a NCAA Division I women's player who displays inspiring dedication and commitment to her team, which has enhanced her team's performance and exemplified the spirit of college tennis. It dates back to 1997 and is memory of the late and widely admired Penn women's tennis coach Cissie Leary.

Wijesinghe was the NCAA Division I women's tennis national recipient of the 2018 ITA/Arthur Ashe Leadership and Sportsmanship Award, which recognizes outstanding individuals in all divisions at the regional and national level. This award which dates back to 1982, goes to NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA and JUCO men's and women's players who have exhibited outstanding sportsmanship and leadership as well as scholastic, extracurricular and tennis achievements.  As a 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-Distirct 5 first-team selection, Wijesinghe also remains a candidate to become the Bradley Women's Tennis program's first-ever Google Cloud Academic All-American.

Her list of awards in 2019 also includes Missouri Valley Conference All-Select (singles) and All-MVC first team (doubles) for her performance on the court, which included the most singles wins (20) by a Bradley senior in program history.  Additional awards during her senior season include MVC Scholar-Athlete first team for the third consecutive year and Bradley's Coach Joe Stowell Award in recognition of her love and dedication to Bradley Athletics.
