It's that time again. With the calendar shifted to May, it's time to look back and for fans to vote for which Brave they believe had the best month of April.
 
Sophomore McKenzie Altmayer of the women's track team, junior Allison Apke of the softball team, sophomore Sandra Maletin of the tennis team and senior Andy Shadid of the baseball team are the four nominees for Bradley Athlete of the Month in April.
 
Each month, fans have the opportunity to vote for which Brave had the best month in their respective sport. Voting is open until Monday at 2 p.m. and will be conducted through the @BradleyBraves twitter account.
 
McKenzie Altmayer • So. • Women's Track • Geneva, Ill.
• Set the program's record in the 3,000m steeplechase at the Drake Relays, clocking a time of 10:31.57
• Surpassed the previous Bradley standard by more than five seconds, set in 2014
• Her time currently ranks third in the Valley, 48th in the West Region and 94th nationally
• Also ran the 1,500m at the Illini Twilight, just missing her PR at 4:40.44
 
Allison Apke • Jr. • Softball • Teutopolis, Ill.
• Collected hits in 16 of 17 games in the month of April, boasting a team-best .471 batting average while helping Bradley Softball to a 12-5 record.  
• Hit five of her BU single-season record 12 home runs in April and drove in 21 runs in addition to scoring 12 runs to account for 29 percent of Bradley's 5.71 runs per game in the month.
• Also owned a team-best .557 on base percentage and.843 slugging percentage in April 
• Had multiple hits in six of 17 games and drove in two or more runs in five contests
 
Sandra Maletin • So. • Tennis • Belgrade, Serbia
• Won all five of her singles matches during the month at No. 1 singles, while also collecting a 4-1 record at No. 1 doubles
• Helped the Braves complete their best-ever Valley record at 4-1 – winning all four of their conference matches during the month
• Won both singles and doubles matches in quarterfinals of Missouri Valley Conference Tournament victory against Northern Iowa
• Named to the MVC All-Select Team
 
Andy Shadid • Sr. • Baseball • Peoria, Ill.
• Hit .373 during 18 games in April, leading Bradley with seven home runs and 28 RBI
• Led the Braves to a 15-3 April record – the team's most wins in any month since collecting 16 in March 1996
• Named MVC Player of the Week on April 29, as well as collecting CBN Player of the Week accolades twice
• Tallied at least one hit in 14-of-18 games during the month with multiple hits on seven occasions
• Drove in four runs three times with four against RMU-Springfield, four versus Southern Illinois and six at Missouri State
