Junior Allison Apke of the softball team is the Bradley Athlete of the Month, earning the honor after a fan vote for the month of April.

Apke boasted a team-leading .471 batting average during the month, registering a hit in 16-of-17 April games. She also added five home runs, while adding 21 RBI and 12 runs scored to account for 29 percent of the team's 5.71 runs during the month. Overall, Apke posted a .559 on-base percentage and slugged .843 as Bradley went 12-5 during the month.

In 41 games this season, Apke leads Bradley with a .358 batting average, while ranking second on BU with 12 home runs and third with 38 RBI. The junior helped BU to its best finish in five years this season as the Braves earned the four seed for this week's Missouri Valley Conference Championship, held at Peoria's Petersen Hotels Field at the Louisville Slugger Sports Complex.

Apke earned the Bradley Athlete of the Month accolades after a fan vote on the school's twitter account. She collected 40 percent of the vote to beat out Andy Shadid of the baseball team (31 percent), McKenzie Altmayer of women's track (24 percent) and Sandra Maletin of the tennis team (9 percent).
