Senior Will Anderson of the Bradley cross country and track teams was honored for his work on and off the track on Thursday as he was named to the Google Cloud Academic America Cross Country/Track & Field Second Team.

Anderson earned the Academic All-America accolade for the second-straight season as he was a first-team honoree one year ago. Anderson is just the second Bradley runner to receive the prestigious accolade twice – joining Marshall Moyer in 2015 and 2016 – and is just the ninth Brave in any sport to win the award on multiple occasions.

The senior enjoyed his most successful campaign in the Bradley Red & White. Anderson helped the Braves to their fourth-straight Missouri Valley Cross Country Championship and first team-appearance at the NCAA Championship in the fall. He received honorable mention to the all-conference team and then finished 33rd at the NCAA Midwest Regional to clinch the final national championship automatic bid for Bradley, where the Braves placed 24th in the country.

Anderson then earned all-conference accolades in track for the first time during his career when he placed third in the 3,000m run at the MVC Championship in addition to scoring in the 5,000m with a fifth-place mark. He was also recognized as the conference's Elite 17 Award Winner at the indoor meet for owning the top GPA by a student-athlete who earned all-conference honors.

Off the track, Anderson earned his degree in electrical engineering with a 3.97 grade point average.
