School-Record Six Braves Named to NABC Honors Court

Six members of the Bradley men's basketball program were honored for their work off the court, earning recognition on the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court. Seniors Peter Hanley, Dwayne Lautier-Ogunleye and Luuk van Bree and juniors Koch Bar, Jayden Hodgson and Nate Kennell all collected the accolade as the Braves featured the second-most honorees in Division I.

While Eastern Washington led all programs with seven honorees, Bradley joined Harvard, San Francisco and Wright State as Division I teams with six student-athletes to receive the accolade. Additionally, the six honorees are two more than the previous school record of four, set most recently as last year.

In order to be named to the Honors Court, a student-athlete must be a junior or senior and own a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2018-19 academic year.

Hanley and van Bree collected the honor for the second time during their career, while the other four Braves were named to the team for the first time. Additionally, Bradley was honored as a team with the NABC Team Academic Excellence Award for posting a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 for the 2018-19 season.

In addition to its success in the classroom, Bradley enjoyed one of its most successful seasons in years on the court. The Braves are coming off a campaign where they won their first Missouri Valley Conference Tournament in 31 years, earning an automatic bid to the 2019 NCAA Tournament. The Braves return six letterwinners from their championship team – including their top three-scorers – to go along with seven newcomers in 2019-20.
