The Bradley men's track and field team continues to set records on and off the track in 2019 as the Braves posted the nation's fourth-best GPA, earning USTFCCCA All-Academic Team distinction.

The BU men's team owned a 3.50 cumulative grade point average at the conclusion of the 2018-19 academic year – topped only by Harvard (3.55), Lipscomb (3.53) and Duke (3.51). The women's team also earned the All-Academic honors with a 3.47 GPA at the end of the season.

Individually, six Braves were honored on the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team, matching a school record set last season. Seniors Haran Dunderdale, David Shadid and Michael Ward and juniors Alec Hartman, Jake Hoffert and Scott Seymour all collected the individual accolade, which is presented to a student-athlete that finished the regular season ranked in the top 96 nationally in an indoor event or participated in the NCAA Preliminaries during the outdoor campaign, while also maintaining at least a 3.25 cumulative GPA.

Ward led all Bradley honorees after receiving the academic accolade for the fifth time during his career. The recipient of the MVC's Dr. Charlotte West Award and BU's Charles Orsborn Award, Ward won two Valley Championships in 2019, posted the nation's 36th-best time in the indoor 3,000m and DMR, while qualifying for the 10,000m run at the NCAA West Preliminary.

Dunderdale earned the accolade for the fourth time during his career as a member of the school's DMR team and advancing to the NCAA Quarterfinals of the 3,000m steeplechase. Hartman, Hoffert and Shadid added the honor for the second time as Hartman and Shadid also were members of the DMR, while Hartman reached the NCAA Quarterfinals of the 800m for the second-straight season and Hoffert qualified for the NCAA Semifinals in the 10,000m run for the second time in three years.

Seymour rounded out the honorees for Bradley as he reached the NCAA West Preliminary for the first time during his career in the 800m run.

After sweeping both the men's and women's cross country championships this year, the men set school records with 86 points at the MVC Indoor Championship and 70 points at the outdoor meet, while the women more than doubled their combined points at the two conference meets from 34 in 2018 to 72 in 2019.
