The Bradley soccer team opened its 2019 season with a 1-1 draw in its preseason opener against longtime rival Creighton on Saturday night.

The Braves opened the scoring when senior David Schulte Südhoff tallied for BU in the 34th minute. Jha'Lon Johnson intercepted a clearing attempt by Creighton and found Schulte Südhoff open at the edge of the box. The senior calmly finished to his left for the 1-0 score at the halftime break.

The Bluejays, however, would square the contest at one following the intermission. On a counter-attack, Luke Haakenson finished from 15 yards out in the 63rd minute for the 1-1 score.

The teams would play out the final 27-plus minutes without a go-ahead goal, resulting in the 1-1 draw in the preseason opener.

Nathan Wiseby recorded four saves to lead the Braves in net.

Bradley finishes out its preseason with a game versus Mercer at Independence High School in Thompson's Station, TN next Saturday. First kick is scheduled for 11 a.m. CT.
